    CMIS Stories

CMIS features photos and videos in our CMIS Gallery and on our CMIS Social Media Platforms.  Below are some recent highlights.

On March 16th, Chiang Mai International School, led by Dr. Yuthachai Damrongmanee, the school manager-director, hosted the venue for Thai Teachers' professional development by International Schools Circle of the North (ISCN). This event was attended by a large number of Thai teachers from international schools across Northern Thailand, including CMIS Thai teachers. It provided professional development for our Thai teachers to grow their knowledge and skills in managing mental and behavioral issues in children and adolescents effectively. This training will greatly benefit their future work and contribute to the educational and personal development of students.

    .

20 high school visual arts students have recently exhibited their artwork alongside other International Schools in Chiang Mai. Students wrote artist statements, curated and hung the show themselves. Their work is of a very high standard and the artists should be incredibly proud of their work.

    .

We had a beautiful time worshipping together this past Thursday 21 March at our International Day of Prayer service. The theme of "Forgiveness" resonated throughout the event, thanks to thoughtful reflections led by Mr. Rob Johnson.

A special shoutout to Ms. Malinda, and the Elementary Bible Club, Ms. Gift, and the High School worship band for leading us in uplifting songs. It was truly inspiring to hear students and teachers share the word of God in their native languages.

    .

We extend our sincerest congratulations to our CMIS students of grades 9 and 10 for their outstanding achievement in winning the piano award and participating in the Golden Classical Music Award International Competition at Carnegie Hall, New York, USA, on March 17, 2024. Such commendable performance reflects their exceptional talent and underscores their dedication and hard work. We are proud of their accomplishments and wish them continued success in their future endeavors.

    .

The CMIS Easter Assembly returned this year, exploring the theme of forgiveness. The event kicked off with a series of animations created by the talented Grade 5 students. Dr. Cherie, our superintendent, offered a warm welcome and shared a short message. The Elementary Bible Club then filled the assembly with joy as they performed "Jesus Strong and Kind" using sign language.

Students from the world language classes, English, Thai, Chinese, French, and Spanish – offered thoughtful reflections on forgiveness. The celebration continued with the High School Worship Band leading the entire school in a spirit-filled rendition of "Amazing Grace," "The Blessings," and "Blessed Be Your Name." The assembly provided a beautiful opportunity for students to contemplate the importance of strength and kindness in the act of forgiveness, both towards oneself and others.

    .

Thank you, Ms. Emily Barnes and the Elementary students for creating the many art crafts as a part of the Easter decoration. KG - garlands, G1 - foam eggs, wreaths, and garlands, G2 - clay decorations, G3 - paper mache and flower weaving, G4 - clay decorations and flower weaving, G5 - animations. The arch will be on display until the end of this month.

We also would want to share with you the Easter animation created in stop motion style by our Grade 5 students, they were shown during the Easter assembly.
