All things made new

One of the great things about school is we get to start fresh twice. Once when school starts in August and again at the traditional time of starting anew, the beginning of the calendar year. A whole year lays before us untouched and unlived. What will we make of it? Here at CMIS we hope to take full advantage of the many blessings we have: a gifted and dedicated teaching staff, wonderful students, and supportive parents.

The new year bursts out with many actvities: Teacher Appreciation Week is January 16-20, Elementary Sports Days are January 25th and 26th, International Day is just around the corner in February. Basketball season is heating up the hardwood with teams from U11 through U20. Besides the special activities, our teachers are hard at work to make the second semester full of meaningful learning to prepare our students for the next step on their educational journey.

Our teachers got help with that goal recently with training in the Virtues Project. We'll look forward to seeing the language and behaviors of positive virtues incorporated into class and around school. The virtue for January is determination. Whether you have New Year's resolutions or another goal to meet, your level of determination will go a long way to seeing that resolution or goal met.

We at CMIS wish you every success meeting your goals and achieving your resolutions this year and look forward to a challenging and rewarding year ahead.
