The grade 8 computer students are currently studying engineering. They first learned the engineering design process and then used the steps in the process to build a shelf for their locker out of cardboard and popsicle sticks that could hold at least 20kg of books. After researching the problem and identifying criteria and constraints, the students sketched a design, built, tested, redesigned and created their final project.
