Course Description

Math 6 is a consolidation course designed to secure student understanding of key arithmetic concepts and skills built through the elementary years, while setting the stage for more advanced algebraic and geometric thinking emphasized in middle school and high school. Built on the Common Core Standards for Mathematics, Math 6 encompasses the following content and skill foci: Ratios & Proportional Relationships; The Number System; Expressions & Equations; Geometry; and Statistics & Probability. Lessons are crafted to develop a deep understanding of math concepts, as well as sharpen students' skill in the "doing" of math. The CMIS Philosophy of Math will shape the learning experience.
