Course Description

AP Calculus is a college-level course that is primarily concerned with developing the students' understanding of the concepts of calculus and providing experience with its methods and applications. The course emphasizes a multi-representational approach to calculus, with concepts, results, and problems being expressed graphically, numerically, analytically and verbally. The connections among these representations also are important.  AP Calculus is built on the Common Core Standards for Mathematics and meets the requirements set by the College Board for AP classes. Lessons are crafted to develop a deep understanding of math concepts, as well as sharpen students' skill in the "doing" of math. The CMIS Philosophy of Math will shape the learning experience.
